One of the world's foremost experts on international economic policy and development, Sachs is a renowned economist, and the author of the New York Times bestseller The End of Poverty. As an academic, Sachs has held professorships at the Harvard Institute for International Development, the Kennedy School of Government, and Columbia University, where he is currently University Professor. Alongside his scholarship, Sachs also serves as special advisor to United Nations Secretary-General António Gutteres on the Sustainable Development Goals, having previously been a special advisor to Ban Ki-Moon and Kofi Annan.
