The famous "Economist" magazine included Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University in the list of the three most influential economists in the world. He is currently a special advisor to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres. Professor Sachs visited Tbilisi State University, Georgia last week, where he was awarded an honorary doctorate. In an interview with Channel 1, Jeffrey Sachs talks about what sustainable development means and what kind of modern state is needed for a happy society. He also tells us about the "shock therapy", which he himself was the author of, and which significantly changed the trajectory of post-Soviet development. Tato Khundadze spoke to him.
